Complying Without Compromising Faith: Obamacare Dilemma
September 30, 2013
Despite continued political and legal challenges, the Affordable Care Act a.k.a. "Obamacare" is now the law of the land. So what now?
There seems to be lots of questions as to how this massive overhaul of America's healthcare system will be implemented and its eternal impact.
Especially from those on the front lines - Christian CEOs, presidents and business owners. The C12 Group represents several hundred Chistian businesses across the US and understands the concern about "Obamacare."
C12's national president, Don Barefoot explains that, "Followers of Christ must object when the government's arbitrary mandates violate God's clear Scriptural mandates. Bible-believing Christian business owners and CEOs see their roles as servant leaders at work as an extension of their faith, personal worship, and stewardship."
So how can Christian business leaders fulfill their God-given responsibilities as good stewards and humble servant leaders, while under pressure to enact federal healthcare laws violating deeply-held biblical beliefs?
Currently, there are lawsuits pending regarding some of the more onerous elements of the A.C.A. (e.g., the HHS mandates regarding mandatory zero co-pay abortifacients, contraception, family planning and sterilization procedures).
US crafts chain, Hobby Lobby with the help of The Becket Fund, leads a legal battle that will impact for-profit Christian businesses across the country.
Five year Hobby Lobby employee, Mandi Broadfoot, explains her company's biblically-based objections.
Unfortunately, it may take some time before individual companies receive specific federal court-ordered injunctive relief from objectionable mandates of the A.C.A.
However, there are reports of small but significant legal victories as a result of federal legal challenges.
So for those Christian business leaders with questions about dealing with Obamacare in a God-honoring way, they should attend the 2013 Christian CEOs Leaders Conference at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN on October 31 (Reformation Day).
An event hosted by The C12 Group, providing a great time of highly targeted and practical equipping for both superior business performance and ministry through the workplace.
The in-depth discussion will be led by a highly respected panel of nationally known experts in the areas of law, HR, healthcare and public policy.
So for business leaders serious about learning to navigate the treacherous legal waters of the Affordable Care Act a.k.a "Obamacare" and building a thriving company guided by timeless Biblical principles and MBA-level best business practices, registration is now open to attend the 2013 Christian CEOs Leaders Conference hosted by The C12 Group in Nashville, Tennessee.
