God's Word speaks loudly and clearly on the common issues of money and marriage. We're to see both of these issues through our Lord's eyes if we're to be centered on the truth and become faithful stewards of the resources and relationships He has sovereignly given us. Christ is the unifying 'third strand' in the cord of a strong marriage, and His eternal purposes are to be central to how we handle money in a true one flesh marriage (Gn 2:24 & Mt 19:5-6) that honors Him and produces eternal fruit.
It is God's intention for money to be a unifying force in every Christian marriage. He calls us to one-flesh relationships and godly stewardship of our household resources built on our unity in Christ. It can be, if our priority is about acquiring the things the world chases. Fruitfully stewarding the resources and opportunities the Lord entrusts to us stands in stark contrast to our culture's mindset: "he who dies with the most accumulated toys and possessions, wins."
